Air conditioning in your Canary Islands apartment, bungalow, villa or Canaries Hotel might not be something you immediately think of when booking on a cold winters day in the UK. However, you'll be glad you've got it when you're in Lanzarote, Tenerife, Gran Canaria or Fuerteventura, especially if you're holiday happens to co-incide with some African weather coming over from the Sahara which can see temperatures getting upto 40 degrees! The Canary Islands, as compared to other favourite British holiday destinations like Majorca and Ibiza, are much further south - they're actually nearer to Africa than Spain.

This means all year round high temperatures, especially around the coastal resorts. Temperatures are up in the 20s even during the winter months. Air conditioning in your hotel, apartment, villa or bungalow is an added comfort you may well appreciate.

Most 3 star grade and above large hotels in the main Canary Islands resorts are equipped with air conditioning now, but not always so do check. Generally speaking, Hotels are often more likely to be equipped with air conditioning than say bungalow or apartment self catering complexes.
