Premium Tenerife, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and West Canaries Hotels with four star grades will all have excellent amenities and facilities as with three stars, but you're not guaranteed to have a swimming pool so check this. Quality will be slightly higher than three stars, with perhaps a little more character. Many top leisure hotels and spa hotels fall into the four star and above grading range. You're moving up not just on quality and luxury touches like character swimming pools often set in beautiful sub-tropical gardens or beautifully designed en-suite bedrooms with fine linens and tasteful decoration, but also moving into historic locations such as La Laguna on Tenerife, Santa Cruz de la Palma the capital of La Palma or villages in Gran Canaria's interior, you'll often find such graded hotels or apartments are converted historic buildings which adds to character and charm.

Tenerife and Canary Islands spa hotels are usually 4 star graded and above, and this quality assurance points to an array of leisure facilities including beauty treatments, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, others sports facilities on-site including tennis and golf, and a whole programme of walking and healthy 'wellness' exercises offering the perfect healthy and relaxing Canaries holiday. Such extras can include various specialist leisure programmes, guided walks and mountain biking.
