Small Hotel Grading Canary Islands

Canary Islands Hotels are all graded using a Spanish star system which runs from 1 to 5 stars, where 5 stars represents the top end luxury Canaries Hotel. Occasionally you'll see extra luxurious hotels with a 5 star GL rating. This signifies supreme luxury, there is no higher award than this. Most Canaries resort hotels now have a 3 star minimum grading - older hotels have upgraded and been renovated recently.

Canary Islands hotels, including small hotels Canaries, with star gradings 1 to 5 indicate a level of service, and available amenities, although this can vary so do check when booking. Hotels with 5 stars are at the luxury end of the scale so be assured that you will have air-conditioning in all public rooms and bedrooms, central heating throughout, all bedrooms will have private bathrooms, there will usually be some suites with sitting room, you'll have a telephone in every room, a lounge and adequate parking facilities. With four star hotels expect air conditioning in all public rooms and bedrooms unless climatic conditions require central heating or refrigeration only, a lounge, all bedrooms with private bathroom, hot and cold water; a telephone in every room, a lift and adequate parking facilities. With three star hotels expect air-conditioning/heating according to climatic conditions, a lounge, all bedrooms with bathroom/shower, wash-basin, WC and hot and cold water, and a telephone in every room. With two star hotels expect Air-conditioning/heating according to climatic conditions, a lounge; all bedrooms with bath/shower, a wash-basin, WC and hot and cold water, and a telephone. Finally, with one star hotels expect air-conditioning/heating according to climatic conditions, a lounge, all bedrooms with bath/shower; wash-basin, WC and hot and cold water; and telephone.

Many of the smaller stylish boutique hotels in Tenerife and elsewhere on the Canaries are towards the luxury end, with 4 and 5 star gradings.
