Golf Holiday Accommodation in Tenerife

Golf Holiday Accommodation in Gran Canaria
Golfing Holiday choice on the Canary Islands is superb. Tenerife currently offers the largest choice of golf courses, with some of the best around the southern resorts. Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura also offer a superb selection of golf course, and Fuerteventura particularly has several more golf courses currently being built (one is to be in Jandia). Lanzarote has a particularly good golf course ideally located just outside Costa Teguise and even tiny La Gomera now has it's own luxury golf course situated near the airport in the south of the island.
Tenerife is tops for golf leisure holidays. Checkout the choice of all inclusive golf holiday packages around Costa Adeje and Playa de las Americas, including the renowned Golf del Sur Golf leisure complex. Gran Canaria also has a good choice of golf courses to the south of the island around Maspalomas and Puerto Rico.
Fuerteventura has got it's eye on the golf holiday market. More golf courses are currently being built here, but for now look to Caleta de Fuste and surrounds for a choice of golf holiday accommodation, or accommodation near golf courses. Costa Teguise is a good location on Lanzarote for easy access to the superb golf course just outside Costa Teguise.
Tenerife remains the Canary Island of choice for golf holidays (although there's some stiff competition coming it's way from Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria particularly!). Most visiting golf fans might think first of Playa de las Americas and the southern resorts as top Tenerife locations for the best choice of local golf courses. You wouldn't be far wrong here, the southern region of Tenerife is particularly well served by golf courses including Golf Las Americas, Golf Costa Adeje, Los Palos Golf Center Playa de las Americas, Amarilla Golf, San Miguel and Golf Del Sur, San Miguel (inland near Las Americas). The Golf del Sur golf holiday leisure complex near Playa de las Americas is particularly popular with golf fans!
There's more to Tenerife golf however. Move to the north west of Tenerife west of Garachico and discover the stunning golf course at Buenavista, with stunning views out to sea and across to Punto de Teno. To the north east of Tenerife is the celebrated second oldest golf course in Spain - Real Club Golf in Tacoronte (ideally close to Tenerife Norte Airport). Tenerife golf course choice is to the west too, the beautifully elevanted Abama Resort Golf Club at Guia de Isora, oh and how about whipping over to Campo Tecina Golf course on neighbouring island La Gomera. Situated near Playa Santiago, if you fly over to La Gomera from Tenerife North Airport, La Gomera Airport is conveniently situated adjacent to Playa Santiago and Tecina Golf!
Fuerteventura golf is on the up and up. Already Fuerteventura has one highly acclaimed golf course in Caleta de Fuste - the island's main resort. This course hosted the Spanish Open in 2004 and offers 18 holes/Par 70 course, with on-site club house, 3 enormous lakes and a 50 bay driving range.
Plans (and indeed building work) are afoot for four more luxury golf courses on Fuerteventura, one in Rosa del Lago just north of Fuerteventura's capital Puerto del Rosario, another in the Jandia Peninsula, another around the Vinamar Barranco in the Pajara region - this will serve the Playas del Jable area and finally El Faro de El Cotillo to the north sees building work currently underway (2006) on it's golf course.
Fuerteventura obviously has plans to push itself as a top Canary Islands golf holiday hotspot - to compete with both Tenerife and Gran Canaria which currently have a good selection of golf courses. For relaxing golfing holidays, Fuerteventura is a good choice!
Golf Course choice on Gran Canaria is excellent, and expanding. Currently there are 7 excellent golf courses, including the big one at Maspalomas/Playa del Ingles. It's nicely designed and is actually located at the foot of an old volcano - plenty of cactus, palm trees and moulding around lava flow, with good views, this golf course is definitely aesthetically pleasing.
