If you're thinking about planning some Canaries island hopping across a two week holiday then it's a good idea to base yourself initially on either Tenerife or Gran Canaria. These two larger islands have the best transport, both flights and ferries, connecting to the other Canary Islands daily. Courtesy of Binter Canarias Airlines, daily flights run from both Tenerife North Airport and Gran Canaria Airport to all the other Canary Islands. All these inter-connecting flights are fast (under 1 hour), easy and efficient! Fast ferries also run daily from Los Cristianos in South Tenerife to La Gomera, La Palma and El Hierro. From Agate on the west side of Gran Canaria you can hop on a fast ferry Santa Cruz, the capital of Tenerife, and ferries connect to the other islands from both Las Palmas and Santa Cruz ports! One of the quickest ferry connections is between Fuerteventura and Lanzarote (this one's down to 12 minutes now). It's easy to take in two or three Canary Islands on a two week holiday!
The Eastern Islands of Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura are an easy grouping to island hop between, and ideal for party goers and sun worshipers. Why not throw in a little art and culture along the way, strolling round the museums of Las Palmas, the capital of Gran Canaria or touring the Cesar Manrique centres by car hire on Lanzarote. You could adjust the itinerary accordingly depending on taste - for example if it's partying you want, connect to Tenerife and head down south to Playa de las Americas or north to Puerto de la Cruz instead of Lanzarote. Base yourself either in the bustling and friendly resort of Corralejo in the north with superb sandy beaches and adjacent sand dune national park, or head on south to Jandia for more sublime endless golden sandy beaches. The Western Canary Islands grouping of Tenerife, La Gomera, El Hierro and La Palma offer a superb choice of walking and bird watching holidays as well as cultural tours. Start on Tenerife and base yourself in the north for easy access to Tenerife North Airport. Move west on Tenerife to the spectacular Teno Mountains and walking around Masca, move to the interior for the iconic Teide National Park and its network of trails, move east for the oldest mountain range - the Anaga Mountains, with beautiful and historic La Laguna adjacent. Spend an evening at Santa Cruz's famous new auditorium, renowned for its classical music! Take time to explore the stunning rural La Orotava valley in the north too.
After four or five days on Tenerife, hop on a connecting flight to La Palma from Tenerife North Airport, and base yourself at low key resort Los Cancajos near La Palma airport which offers easy access just north to La Palma's historic capital Santa Cruz de La Palma and inland to the magnificent Parque Nacional de la Caldera de Taburiente. Whilst on La Palma make sure you take in the volcano routes and trails around Fuencaliente in the south too.
Off you go again after a few days on La Palma, either hopping on the fast ferry from Santa Cruz de la Palma which travels back to Los Cristianos via El Hierro and La Gomera. On La Gomera enjoy walking the trails, particularly up to Alto de Garajonay, in La Gomera's stunning Garajonay National Park with it's laurisilva forests. On El Hierro lap up the wildness of this island, walking old camino trails amongst the El Pinar pine forests or the volcanic Malpais (bad lands) to the west.

For the second week head across to Fuerteventura via the fast ferry from Playa Blanca and hit the surf at beaches just outside Corralejo in North Fuerteventura. With your car hire head on down south to Jandia and one of the most beautiful beaches on the Canaries - Playa de Sotavento de Jandia. World Class Windsurfing competitions are held here! Kitesurfing is excellent here at Sotavento too, and for a change head back up to El Cortillo on the north west side of Fuerteventura for more great windsurfing and kitesurfing.
The Canary Islands offers a choice of top diving sites. Why not Island hop around and enjoy a few of them! On Tenerife checkout the choice of dive sites around Las Galletas in the South and Los Gigantes to the north west. It's also rather good from Puerto Colon's little harbour also in South Tenerife (nearby El Medano beach offers great windsurfing and kitesurfing too!). On Gran Canaria diving is excellent around Puerto de Mogan just north of Puerto Rico in South West Gran Canaria. On La Palma Los Cancajos on the east side is a diving hotspot, and on Fuerteventura head for Corralejo and Caleta de Fuste for a choice of diving trips.
On Gran Canaria, just to the north of Arinaga on the east coast is the protected marine reserve of El Cabron. This dive site is listed amongst the top 100 in Spain, and is one of the best dive sites on the Canaries. Split your diving holiday then, for example, with one week in the Las Galletas area of Tenerife, then connect to Gran Canaria via Tenerife North Airport (flights daily) and El Cabron is situated just south of the airport - Magic!

Day 1 - Arrival and reception at South Tenerife Airport. Transfer to the accommodation in the south of Tenerife and check-in at the hotel. Rest of the day off.
Day 2 - Teide Visit. Pick-up at the hotel in the morning. The tour begins with the ascent to the magnificent Canadas del Teide National Park, a route which will pass through the village of Chio and Chinyero Volcano, which last erupted in 1909, and on to the plains of Ucanca. We then make a visit to the state run Roca hotel and on to Teide and local terrain. We stop to observe the eastern Caldera, Montana Blanca and the Piedra Pomez. Guests will have the chance to enjoy some free time for lunch or a picnic (not included) in a local restaurant. The descent will be made through Vilaflor, one of the oldest villages in spain and the highest. Guests then have the evening off.
Day 3 - La Gomera. Pick-up at the hotels in the morning. Trasfer to the port of Los Cristianos. Crossing to La Gomera by ferry. At arrival, the tour begins with the ascent to the Garajonay National Park. We stop at the Degollada de Peraza viewpoint for panoramic views of the island and continue to La Palmita and the villages of Las Rosas and Angulo. We stop for lunch (included) at a local restaurant, with a live demonstration of the 'silbo gomero', the Gomeran whistle, a peculiar and local methods of communication. The return trip will take guests via the splendid valley of Hermigua and the capital San Sebastian, with time to relax or visit the Christopher Columbus House Museum. Departure to Tenerife by ferry and transfer back to the hotel. Evening off.
Day 4 - Tenerife - Morning and afternoon off. Evening excursion to Piramide of Arona. The Piramide of Arona features one of the most prestigious Spanish dance shows choreographed by Carmen Mota. Transfer from the hotel and reception at the venue, and 90 minutes show. Transfer back to the hotel.
Day 5 - Loro Park Visit and Transfer to Fuerteventura - Check-out at the hotel and transfer to Loro Park in Puerto de La Cruz (north of the island). This Park has the most extensive collection of parrots worldwide, as well as different animal shows like sea lions, dolphins, orcas and the most splendid population of penguins outside Antartica. Other species include gorillas, tigers, flamencos, other tropical birds and botanical gardens. After the visit we transfer to the airport - Tenerife North's Los Rodeos, check-in and flight to Fuerteventura. Arrival to Fuerteventura. Reception to the airport and transfer to the hotel. Check-in at the hotel.
Day 6 - Island Roundtrip Fuerteventura - Pick-up at the hotels. Our first stop will be a panoramic view of the vast beaches of Jandia, from where we will continue our tour to the village of Pajara with its peculiar church (Aztecan facade). Our tour will take our guests then to Betancuria where we will make a visit to the Casa de Santa Maria and enjoy the multivision display (included). Through La Antigua, we will reach the village of Lajares, known for its typical embroidery, we will make a stop to visit the mill and La Molina where an explanation of how gofio (roasted wheat or maize flour) is produced. We return after this visit back to the hotel. Meal on route (included).
Day 7 - Lanzarote - Pick-up at the hotels. Transfer to the port of Corralejo in the north and crossing to Playa Blanca in Lanzarote by ferry. At arrival, a bus will be waiting to take guests to the Janubio salt mines. After crossing the village of Yaiza, we will enter the Montana de Fuego in the National Park of Timanfaya. On the Hilario mountain, a demonstration of geothermal experiments will be made, followed by the interesting volcano route by coach. In La Geria (wine growing area), we will be visiting a typical wine cellar. We will later cross Teguise (typical village) on our way to Haria, located in the Valley of the Thousand Palm Trees. Lunch, then visit to Los Jameos del Agua. Return to Playa Blanca and departure back to Fuerteventura. Evening off.
Day 8 - Fuerteventura - Gran Canaria. Check-out at the hotel in the morning and crossing to the island of Gran Canaria. Reception and transfer to the hotel. Check-in. Rest of the day off.
Day 9 - Little Venice and Guayadeque Valley/Gran Canaria - Pick-up at the hotels. Our tour will take us along the southwest coast road of Gran Canaria through Arguineguin, Puerto Rico (with panoramic view stop of the harbour) and Puerto de Mogan, a pretty fishing village well known as 'Little Venice' due to the channels that run through it. Spare time to visit the port. Transfer to Playa del Ingles and visit to the Pearl Factory of La Perla Canaria, where an explanation of the growth of pearls will be given. Transfer back to the hotel. After a break at the hotel, pick-up and transfer to the Guayadeque Valley in the east of the island, a natural monument of important significance to prehispanic guanche history, with many cave-houses. Stop and visit to the cave church. Transfer to the cave-restaurant of Bartolo. Canarian typical meal included. After the meal, transfer back to the hotels.
Day 10 - Jeep Safari, Gran Canaria. Pick-up and transfer to the meeting point at Yumbo Centre. On jeeps we will start our tour through El Salobre and Lomos de Pedro Afonso where several stops will be made for explanations about the orography and importance of the agricultural growths of the area. We continue ascending and we get to the pinewoods of Pajonales and Cercados de Arana up to the Chira Lake and afterwards to Ayacata at 1,200m high, where we will stop for lunch (included). We start descending along Las Ninas Lake and through Mogan, Taurito, Tauro, Puerto Rico, Arquineguin, Maspalomas and Playa del Ingles. Transfer back to the hotels. Evening off.
Day 11 - Day Off - Day off to enjoy at your leisure in Gran Canaria. Day 12 - Teror Market. Pick-up at the hotel, our route will take us through the villages of Ingenio, Telde, with stop to visit the San Juan Barrio, and continue to Teror through Marzagan, Santa Brigida and Pino Santo. At arrival guests will be able to enjoy the atmosphere of a typical local market as well as the village of Teror, pilgrimage place for Canarians, with its beautiful church and wooden artisanal balconies on the facades of their buildings. Spare time for customers. Transfer back through the village of Arucas with stop. Evening off.
Day 13 - Las Palmas Visit. Pick-up at the hotels. On the GC-1 we will travel towards the capital of the island of Gran Canaria, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, where we will make our first stop in the old quarter, Vegueta. Walk in the Sta.Ana's Square around the Cathedral and visit to the House Museum of Columbus (included). Afterwards we will head to the Marketplace on foot. Crossing the Guiniguada Valley we will get to the pedestrian street of Triana, of great architectural and commercial importance, where visitors will have some time off for shopping and perusal at their leisure. Transfer by coach to Altavista for panoramical views of the city and it's port. Our tour will continue to the Port of Las Palmas and the beach promenade of Las Canteras. Time off for guests for lunch (not included) or shopping around. Transfer back to the hotels. Evening off.
Day 14 - Gran Canaria to Tenerife. Check-out at the hotel. Transfer to the island of Tenerife. Check-in at the hotel and rest of the day off. Day 15 - Outbound Flight - Check-out at the hotel and transfer to the Aiport for flight home.
