Situated just 15 minutes from Gran Canaria Airport, Bahia Feliz and nearby Pozo Izquierdo beach are renowned as superb windsurfing hotspots - you get the breezes over this side of Gran Canaria! As often happens at a top watersports location, aka surfing or windsurfing, this lends a slight bohemian and chic edge to the resort - and so it is with Bahia Feliz.
There's a windsurfing and watersports focus to this popular Gran Canaria resort, and the strong winds often experienced here may not be as suitable for families looking for sheltered beaches (head to Puerto Rico instead perhaps).
This aside, Bahia Feliz is a modern and stylish resort with plenty of green space gardens and parks, and a pleasant promenade running along the coast.
The Canarian styled village in the centre of Bahia Feliz houses a selection of shops, restaurants, bars and music venues, and there's ample selection of amenities such as supermarkets and beach/holiday shops. Bahia Feliz has an adjacent aerodrome, so if you want easy access to Helicopter rides or a spot of sky diving (ahhhhh) then Bahia Feliz makes a good base.
Bahia Feliz is popular with windsurfers all year round, particularly in winter when the winds blow hard into the bay - perfect windsurfing conditions. It's flat water here too, good for beginners and the more experienced. Both Arinanga and Pozo Izquierdo nearby are also windsurfing hotspots, so all you windsurfers will be in your element here - this area is world renowned as one of the best windsurfing locations.
