Lanzarote visitors looking for a quieter resort base, yet with easy access to the many resort attractions, bars, Lanzarote tour pick-ups and beaches of Puerto del Carmen should look towards Los Pocillos and indeed Matagorda. Both Los Pocillos and Matagorda are mini resort links to Puerto Del Carmen, Los Pocillos is only around 3 km away from Puerto del Carmen. The big attraction here again is Playa de Los Pocillos beach. Quite a bit of EU money has been pouring into this area of Lanzarote and much of it has been spent on improving the beach here.
Los Pocillos, with it's nice sandy beach is a quieter resort option to Puerto del Carmen, yet within easy reach of all the bigger Lanzarote Resort has to offer. Quick transfer times from nearby Lanzarote Airport too!
There are three main commercial centres in Los Pocillos - Los Pocillos itself, Costa Mar and Jameous Playa. It's a purpose built Lanzarote resort area really, with all your amenities close to hand including shops, a good beach and a scattering of bars/restaurants. Los Pocillos is only 10 miles to the south of Arrecife and 5 miles from the airport. It's a popular, quieter resort base with the Brits, and a friendly home from home with some good holiday bargains available here on accommodation. You might get a little airport noise, but it's certainly not oppressive.
Plenty of UK brands and familiar shops are here, including Spar supermarkets. Los Pocillos is relatively new and it feels it - this is a pretty modern Lanzarote tourist resort. It's still developing with some building work still in progress, but the building work is relatively low key so shouldn't be a problem.
A promenade connects Los Pocillos with both Matagorda, its sister small resort, and big Puerto del Carmen just 3km to the south of Pocillos. Quiet and relaxing, Los Pocillos is a good Lanzarote resort choice if you're looking for a quiet base, yet again with easy access to all the excursions, tours and beaches of Puerto del Carmen.
