You won't get much closer to Los Rodeos, Tenerife North's Airport than the rural Tenerife base La Esperanza. It's quite a well kept secret this area of North Tenerife, but increasing focus on rural and ecotourism on Tenerife and elsewhere in the Canaries is giving it a higher profile. La Esperanza is a prime holiday base for walkers. Numerous footpaths and walks branch out from the area. La Esperanza sits within the rural municipality of El Rosario. Just to the north is historic one time capital San Cristobal de La Laguna, and to the south is Candelaria where the patron saint of the Canaries is housed. You're well placed then for cultural tours.

Situated alongside the C824 highway, La Esperanza is an ideal base too for whisking down to Teide National Park for more walking, and indeed for visits to La Orotava and the Orotava Valley. Like most of Tenerife North's holiday bases, La Esperanza offers a real Canarian feel, and you're just bordering the lesser known Tenerife protected park area - the Corona Forest Natural Park. A number of Miradors (lookout points) are situated along the C824, and you're ideally placed in La Esperanza to access not just the Corona Forest Natural Park, but also the Siete Lomas reserve and the protected Malpais de Guimar.
