A number of relatively new Tenerife north resorts are popping up, particularly along the Tenerife north east coast near popular religious historical hotspot Canelaria. Las Caletillas is just such a Tenerife resort, with a choice of all inclusive new 3 and 4 star hotels available, plus delightful apartments.
If you're looking for a beach base with a real Canarian feel away from the Tenerife resorts, yet within easy reach of Candelaria, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, La Laguna and the Anaga Mountains to the north east then Las Caletillas is the perfect choice for a holiday base on Tenerife!
Las Caletillas is a nice quiet base within a pretty coastal setting. The beach here is pebbley, but perfectly adequate for bathing. The real bonus is being located just 3km away from beautiful Candelaria, one of the prettiest towns on Tenerife.
You're also conveniently placed for cultural and shopping tours to Santa Cruz de Tenerife (about 14km away) and one of the best beaches on Tenerife - Playa de las Teresitas situated just to the north of Santa Cruz. With easy access to the main TF 1 fast motorway linking you to the big southern resorts too you're in a good position here in Las Caletillas for exploring all that Tenerife has to offer, including Teide National Park in the interior.
Las Caletillas is equipped with good basic facilities including a selection of local stores, a bank, chemist and a good selection of holiday shops. There's plenty of cash machines dotted about as well, plus a small number of friendly low key bars serving both tapas and drinks. There's a large drive through Macdonalds here if you must, but the real prize is Las Caletillas' selection of Canarian restaurants here.
