Arico Nuevo is a delightful east Tenerife rural base, elevated about 500 metres above sea level. It's a small Tenerife village, Arico Nuevo, with easy access inland to the Teide National Park and Corona Pine Forests, and down to the coast to the beach at Playa Grande and the Punta de Abona area.
Arico Nuevo is inland slightly, south of Guimar and north of El Medano on the coast. This little rural Tenerife village is an excellent location for walkers, plus you've easy access to the fast TF1 motorway for trips upto north Tenerife and Santa Cruz.
The landscape surrounding Arico is a mix of mountainous scenery, dotted with pine groves. The Corona Pine forests stretch down as far as Arico. Independent travellers and keen walkers will favour Arico Nuevo for a good rural base. You're close to the motorway (4km away) so within easy access to the larger south Tenerife resort facilities. Up in the heights of Arico, the town here has some tourism and good basic amenities such as banks, smf cash points, but it's a quiet rural affair up here.
