San Isidro sits inland from El Medano on the south east coast of Tenerife and Granadilla. It's rather luxuriously rural here, right in the heart of the Abona municipality. A good Tenerife walking base with easy access to the beautiful bohemian Tenerife coastal resort of El Medano which has excellent facilities for windsurfing and kitesurfing. Tenerife car hire is again recommended if you're basing yourself in San Isidro.
Just 7km north of Tenerife Sur Airport, and a world away from the bustling south Tenerife resorts, San Isidro is an attractive rural Tenerife location situated in the municipality of Arona. There's a particularly well equipped sports centre located here.
It's a Canarian town through and through, with good amenities including small supermarkets, banks, and other amenities generally geared to local Canarian residents. In fact in recent months, local residents have banded together to challenge the introduction of a large superstore in the area. Currently road improvements are underway so you'll soon have excellent roads connecting you to the main motorway system.
